Ask a Mentor Service

The Ask a Mentor service is a short-term mentoring option which gives you the opportunity to have a one-off conversation with an experienced professional from our diverse and hugely talented pool of mentors. This service is available to all students at the University of Westminster and recent graduates from the last three years.

Examples of previous requests have included:

  • Specific application advice
  • Interview preparation or tips
  • Career advice from a specific professional or organisation
  • Guidance on seeking opportunities such as internships

Once we have received and reviewed your application, we will shortlist suitable mentors according to your needs. We will then email you with details of mentor(s) who would be available to have a one-off conversation with you.

The one-off conversation can take place over the phone or online. Once we have provided a suitable match, you will be expected to contact the mentor and arrange a suitable time for this to take place.

Recent graduate, BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences

"The conversation I had with my mentor was extremely insightful and gave me a real confidence boost for my final interview and presentation which I have now completed and have been offered the job!

I cannot thank you enough for helping me get in touch with my mentor. I am very grateful for your time and support as the confidence boost this gave me was huge. I would highly recommend David's mentoring to anyone else in my position and feel that he was both helpful and clear and also extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions I had concerning the role."
